ABOUT US
MATERIALS
We work with a considered range of distinct and durable materials to create gorgeous handbags and accessories that are designed and made to last.
natural plant fibres
All of the natural plant fibres we use are indigenous to Indonesia and, wherever possible, grown organically on the land of the artisan communities we collaborate with.
Bamboo, for example, grows quickly, regenerates easily and is a highly durable and shower resistant material. While atta grass, when dried naturally, becomes as tensile as steel, ensuring every atta item we create is robust and will withstand the test of time.
Lontar and agel fibres are dried and prepared in a way that results in soft, pliable and lightweight materials that are naturally light in colour, and maintain their shape when woven - even when rolled or folded for travel.
our leather
Our signature butter soft nappa leather is the by-product of organic farming, and is sourced from a responsible tannery in Java that is Silver Rate certified by the Leather Working Group.
Our tannery only works with farms that are committed to the ethical treatment of animals and sustainable practices that seek to reduce deforestation. They also follow strict verified practices that control the filtration of low-level chemicals internally while minimising water consumption, thus reducing their negative impact on the environment.
Our leather artisan community are multi generation weavers, located throughout Bali.
JACQUARD
Our jacquard is inspired by a form of traditional weaving that has originated throughout Bali for thousands of years, with every item lovingly handcrafted using the finest techniques and materials.
The yarn is dyed to our colour specifications before being woven in our signature contemporary style. Variations in the colour and weave are natural features, which make it even more unique.
